Senior Front-End Software Engineer, Email Hub - Remote

Circle is building the world’s leading all-in-one platform for online communities. We are a fully remote company of around 200 team members across 30+ countries, collaborating asynchronously with high expectations, documentation, and regular company offsites.

About the role

In October 2024, Circle released Email Hub, an extension focused on email workflows and the email editor. We are hiring a Senior Front-End Software Engineer to join the Email Hub team and help make Circle the top choice for creator and brand-led communities. You will work across the full development lifecycle - breaking down epics, implementing features, testing, reviewing PRs, deploying, and gradually releasing behind feature flags. As a senior engineer, you will own complex projects end-to-end and contribute to the long-term health of the codebase.

What you’ll be doing

• Work autonomously on a frontend architecture built with React and Tailwind CSS.
• Integrate the frontend with a Ruby on Rails backend via REST APIs.
• Build features and improvements for the Circle community platform, Email Hub, and Workflows automation tools.
• Improve code quality, identify architectural gaps, and propose pragmatic evolution plans.
• Collaborate closely with product leaders and designers through spec and design phases to deliver world-class user experiences.
• Fix bugs, iterate on features, and maintain high engineering standards for stability and performance.

What you’ll need to be successful

• Strong alignment with Circle’s values and ability to work in a values-driven organization.
• 5+ years experience as a front-end engineer on complex web applications.
• Strong proficiency with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, plus experience working with APIs.
• Excellent judgment and attention to detail across architecture, product, design, and process decisions.
• Ability to deliver quickly while maintaining high quality and ownership.
• Motivation to deeply understand the business, users, and their needs, and to deliver measurable results.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment with strong collaboration skills.
• Experience working on fully distributed remote teams.
• Familiarity with agile software development principles.

Bonus points

• Experience with community platforms.
• Experience working with a Ruby on Rails backend.
• Experience building email editors, handling email deliverability, or building workflow/automation solutions in the creator space.
• Experience at a fast-growing startup and a track record of quickly learning new technologies.

Compensation

$130,000 - $140,000 USD per year. This cash compensation range is a starting point. In addition to equity, benefits, and perks, cash compensation is subject to an annual review.
