Team and mission

The Ecosystem Engineering team acts at the intersection of business, technology, and coordination to accelerate adoption of technical public goods across the Solana network. We partner with projects and developers large and small to provide architecture guidance, standards, and shared infrastructure to improve developer experience and network-wide outcomes.

The opportunity

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer focused on payments to drive adoption of standards, specifications, and implementations that improve on-chain payments, stablecoins, and tokenization. You will work with ecosystem teams, developers, and partners to advance payments-related products, integrations with traditional finance, and compliance requirements for stablecoins and payment flows.

What you will do

• Drive feature development for high-priority payment-related products and standards, including Solana Pay and on-chain payments improvements.
• Work on standards and integrations that connect on-chain payments with traditional financial systems and compliance requirements for stablecoins and payments.
• Support ecosystem teams as a technical point of contact for payment processing, providing architecture reviews, feedback, and hands-on implementation support.
• Collaborate directly with builders to review implementations, collect feedback, and incorporate learnings into standards and developer guides.
• Help design and operate APIs and backend services that enable reliable payment experiences on Solana.
• Contribute to open source tooling, libraries, and documentation to increase adoption and interoperability across the network.

Who you are - qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working in blockchain or platform-focused teams building payment systems at scale.
• Production experience with Rust, Typescript, or other performant languages, with the ability to write and review secure, efficient code.
• Established experience designing and operating payment systems, on-chain or in traditional finance.
• Experience designing and operating APIs and integrating systems with external payment rails or banking partners.
• A strong interest in the role blockchain technology plays in how money moves globally, and a desire to improve that experience.

Bonus points

• Experience working with the Solana protocol or contributing to Solana-based projects.
• Familiarity with how banking and global payment processing works, and relevant compliance considerations.
• Prior open source contributions or experience helping ecosystem projects ship production-ready payment flows.
