Android Developer
Applaudo Studios is seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our Mobile Development team. You will build native Android applications, influence your own growth, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences. Job Description
As an Android Developer, you will design and implement Android apps from scratch following best practices and standards. You will define API requirements, consume RESTful web services, create prototypes to demonstrate new capabilities, and collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to solve problems and deliver polished user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Build Android applications from the ground up using best practices and coding standards.
- Define API requirements and consume RESTful web services, processing results reliably.
- Create prototypes to showcase the value and functionality of emerging Android technologies.
- Participate in agile development processes to meet requirements and deliver features.
- Collaborate with development teams, designers, and product managers to divide responsibilities and solve problems.
- Follow UI and UX best practice guidelines from Google and the design team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of experience developing native Android applications.
- Strong experience with Android Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with Object-Oriented Design, Kotlin and/or Java, and the Android platform.
- Expansive knowledge of the Android landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies based on level.
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
- Open to flexible scheduling, including shift rotation and on-call availability.
- Good understanding of client/server architecture and web services (SOAP/REST/GraphQL).
- Experience with Clean Architecture and MVVM.
- Good understanding of XML and JSON.
- English proficiency is required to work directly with US-based clients.
