Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java Architect focused on compliance to join our distributed team. This fully remote, worldwide position will lead the technical design and delivery of Java Spring microservice applications, translate business and compliance requirements into robust architectures, and provide technical guidance across domains. The role requires collaboration across product, project, and engineering teams and flexibility to work across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop Java Spring microservice applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Own end-to-end system architecture, translating business and compliance requirements into technical solutions aligned with strategic goals.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with domain tech teams, product managers, and project managers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Perform architectural reviews, identify potential risks and bottlenecks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering peers and junior team members.
• Adapt to time shifts to enable collaboration with colleagues across multiple geographies.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of software development and architecture experience, with demonstrable Java Spring microservice expertise.
• Technical skills: Deep knowledge of Java, Spring framework, microservice patterns, system design, and production-grade engineering practices.
• Collaboration: Excellent cross-team communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Languages: Fluency in English and Chinese is required for smooth coordination across global teams.
• Attributes: Strong problem solving and analytical skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and experience working in Agile environments is a plus.
