QA Automation Engineer at Applaudo

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned QA Automation Engineer to plan, design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scenarios across web, API, and mobile applications. You will work directly with US-based clients, collaborate closely with developers and QA analysts, and drive automation efforts integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

About you

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
• UI automation: Strong expertise with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, and Page Object Model practices.
• API automation: Hands-on experience with Postman, Rest Assured, Karate DSL or similar tools.
• Mobile automation: Experience with Appium and familiarity with Espresso, XCUITest, or Detox.
• CI/CD and QAOps: Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS.
• Databases: Solid knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases for test data management.
• Device farms and low-code tools: Exposure to BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Katalon, TOSCA or equivalent platforms is a plus.
• Certifications: ISTQB CTFL and Appium Certified Developer are desired.
• Communication: Excellent English communication skills for direct client interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scenarios.
• Identify opportunities for automation across web, API, and mobile applications.
• Log, triage, and retest defects, producing clear and actionable reports.
• Collaborate with developers and QA analysts to define and implement test automation strategies.
• Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders on test planning and execution.
• Monitor test progress, ensure exit criteria are met, and maintain QA metrics and reports.
• Support tool selection and integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines.
