Overview
Dandy is building the operating system for dental offices and is hiring a Platform Engineer to join the Platform team. The team focuses on developer productivity by creating tools, processes, and infrastructure that help engineers ship high quality software faster and with confidence. This remote role will evolve CI/CD platforms, internal tooling, and developer environments while championing automation, reliability, and security.
Key responsibilities
- Evolve CI/CD platforms to deliver faster, more reliable feedback loops for engineering teams.
- Design, build, and own internal tooling, build systems, and local development environments foundational to the engineering workflow.
- Identify and integrate modern tools and practices, including AI-powered assistants that amplify developer productivity.
- Lead multi-month infrastructure and platform projects autonomously, ensuring measurable improvements to developer productivity and technical quality.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver usable, well-designed solutions.
- Champion best practices for development, testing, and deployment, and contribute to the team roadmap by identifying high-impact opportunities.
What we are looking for
- 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a focus on developer experience, infrastructure, or CI/CD.
- Practical experience with CI/CD systems such as BuildKite, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, preference for GCP experience.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Go, or Bash.
- Collaborative, customer-obsessed mindset with a passion for helping engineers succeed and strong communication skills.
Bonus points
- Experience building internal developer platforms or portals.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- Familiarity with observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or Chronosphere.
