Overview
Dandy is hiring a Software Engineer to join the CAD team and help build manufacturing-aware 3D algorithms and workflows that improve quality, throughput, and customer outcomes for digital dental manufacturing. You will research, implement, and deploy geometry generation and CAD tools that interface with manufacturing machines and AI models, delivering high-performance, production-grade solutions.
What you will do
- Work cross-functionally to deliver practical solutions to real-world 3D problems across the engineering organization.
- Research, build, implement, and deploy algorithms that generate geometry for dental restorations.
- Build CAD tools that interface with robots, 3D printers, or subtractive manufacturing machines.
- Integrate deep learning models into tools and workflows to enable automation and intelligent behavior.
- Continuously deliver high-performance solutions that are reliable, well-tested, and delight stakeholders.
What we’re looking for
- Fluency with fundamental 3D concepts, algorithms, and mesh processing.
- Strong C++ expertise, with the ability to design, implement, and optimize geometry algorithms and production systems in modern C++.
- Proficiency with geometry processing or visualization libraries such as Meshlib, Open CASCADE, CGAL, or similar.
- Experience developing computational geometry algorithms and integrating them into full-stack applications with user interaction.
- Experience with WASM bindings using Emscripten and C++, and WebGPU compute shaders for parallel processing is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to implement algorithms from research literature and translate them into production-ready code.
- Demonstrated experience building CAD/CAM or geometry inspection systems, and making business-critical technical decisions aligned to strategy.
- Strong collaboration, initiative, and clear communication around risks and trade-offs.

Bonus points
- Experience with 3D modeling tools and digital dental design tools.
- Experience with UI frameworks, HTML and CSS, and visualization in cloud or distributed contexts.
- Experience building software that interfaces to machines or devices.
- Experience with GPU technologies such as HLSL, GLSL, DirectX, Vulkan, Metal, CUDA, or similar.
Compensation
U.S. salary range: USD 201,500 - 237,000. The role also offers equity and potential bonus. Actual compensation varies by location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
