Role overview

We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer, Backend to lead the technical direction of backend systems and infrastructure. You will design and implement high-availability, high-performance services that power transaction flows, order execution, and core wallet features. This is a remote role working across engineering, product, and operations to build resilient systems for modern financial platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and infrastructure that support high-volume wallet transactions and backend pipelines.
• Own paved paths, service standards, and major developer experience initiatives for backend teams.
• Drive CI/CD pipeline design and optimization for backend deployments to improve reliability and deploy velocity.
• Work with Kubernetes, AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi to shape infrastructure patterns.
• Prioritize code quality, testing, observability, and monitoring to ensure production reliability.
• Contribute hands-on to Rust and TypeScript codebases, participate in design reviews, and mentor engineering peers.
• Design and operate data streaming and storage solutions, leveraging platforms such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark where appropriate.
• Engage with the broader crypto and Web3 ecosystem, integrating platform-level improvements and contributing to community or protocol projects when relevant.

Qualifications

• Proven backend engineering experience with distributed systems fundamentals and production-grade services.
• Hands-on Rust experience and familiarity writing reliable, performant systems.
• Experience with TypeScript and backend service development in production environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Terraform or Pulumi.
• Experience or exposure to data streaming platforms such as Kafka, and familiarity with Flink or Spark.
• Practical understanding of CI/CD pipeline design, observability, and service mesh concepts.
• At least 1+ years experience working on blockchain-based products or familiarity with crypto and Web3 concepts.
• Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated interest in open and community-driven platforms.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with order flow optimization, transaction landing, or payment systems.
• Contributions to Solana client development, forks, or other blockchain node-level projects.
• Experience with service mesh and large-scale streaming analytics.

Compensation

The target base salary range for this role is USD 200,000 - USD 250,000, plus equity and benefits. Final offers depend on experience, location, and other factors.
