Staff Product Designer at Phantom

Role Overview

Phantom is hiring a Staff Product Designer to lead high-impact product and design work that makes crypto more accessible for millions of users. You will own end-to-end product design for core experiences across desktop and mobile, define product flows, contribute to strategic direction, and raise the quality bar for user experience across the wallet.

The design-led team at Phantom shapes experiences that lower the barrier to crypto for mainstream audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design - Lead design for a product team from conception to launch in partnership with product, engineering, marketing, support, and leadership.
• Design system - Define new product flows and incorporate them into Phantom's design system and reusable component library.
• End-to-end experiences - Turn complex, conceptual ideas into simple, useful, and elegant experiences for millions of users across desktop and mobile.
• Strategic influence - Contribute to product and company strategy on wallet direction, onboarding, retention, and multi-chain UX.
• Quality advocacy - Proactively raise design quality, accessibility, and consistency across the product.
• Collaboration - Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align on vision, requirements, and successful launches.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building and shipping consumer-facing applications, with strong mobile-first design focus.
• Deep visual design skills in UI, layout, color systems, and iconography.
• Advanced interaction design expertise, able to prototype high-fidelity flows and communicate behavior clearly.
• Proven ability to lead product direction, define strategy, and make product tradeoffs informed by user research and metrics.
• Experience creating and contributing to design systems and reusable components.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, able to articulate design rationale to product and engineering teams and leadership.
• Crypto-native perspective preferred - experience with onchain products, dApps, DeFi or NFT marketplaces is a plus.

Nice to Haves

• Prior experience designing wallet experiences, payments, or onboarding flows for financial products.
• Experience contributing to open-source design libraries or presenting at industry events.
• Familiarity with multi-chain UX patterns and mobile push integration.

Compensation

The target base salary range for this role is $215,000 to $250,000 USD, plus equity and benefits. Final compensation depends on experience, role fit, and location.

Work Model

This is a fully remote position with flexibility. Phantom supports periodic in-person gatherings and offsites to foster team alignment and culture.
