Contract Senior JavaScript Engineer at Fueled

Overview

Fueled is seeking an experienced Contract Senior JavaScript Engineer to lead, architect, and build modern React projects. Fueled is a fully remote digital strategy, design, and engineering agency working with high-profile clients. This contract role is remote- anywhere and offers flexible engagement and placement into project opportunities via Fueled’s contractor pool.

What you will do

• Lead, architect, and implement React projects and modern JavaScript solutions that meet client goals.
• Estimate JavaScript work and break goals into clearly defined, executable tasks.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code, provide and receive code reviews, and connect engineering work to client business objectives.
• Ship scalable web apps and tools that serve millions of users and support client success.

About you

• You build scalable web applications using ES6+, React, and Node.js, and you understand component-based architectures.
• You are comfortable with React concepts such as state and data management, JSX, component systems, and modern tooling.
• You have real-world examples of your work, ideally a code portfolio or GitHub links demonstrating custom projects.
• You prefer working fully remote and can effectively collaborate across distributed teams.

Qualifications and desirable skills

• Strong expertise in JavaScript and React, with experience shipping user-facing features.
• Familiarity with Node.js and modern frontend tooling and build systems.
• Knowledge of WordPress as a platform, including custom post types and integration beyond standard blog use cases, is a plus.
• Experience with web performance, security, and usability best practices.

Contract details

Contractor fee: Compensation is determined based on experience, project scope, geographic location, and business needs. Successful applicants join Fueled’s contractor network and will be invited to projects that match their skills and availability.
