Frontend Engineer, Growth & Engagement Team at Phantom

Role Overview

Phantom is hiring a Frontend Engineer to join the Growth & Engagement team. You will design, implement, and optimize user-facing growth features including action cards, referral flows, push-notification experiences, Phantom Pro upsells, and onboarding enhancements. Partner with Product, Design, Backend, and Data to ship A/B-test-ready interfaces that are performant, instrumented, and built for rapid iteration.

Responsibilities

• Feature development - Ship 2+ end-to-end growth UI features per quarter with thorough tests, documentation, and performance budgets.
• Experimentation enablement - Integrate feature flags and rollout controls so PMs can launch, measure, and rollback experiments without developer intervention.
• Component library - Create and maintain reusable, themeable React and React Native components and design-system assets that power growth experiments.
• Instrumentation - Emit structured events for feature interactions, collaborate with Data to validate pipelines, and ensure analytics readiness for every experiment.
• Performance & reliability - Optimize first-paint times and maintain low error rates; participate in front-end on-call rotation and triage issues promptly.
• Cross-functional collaboration - Work closely with Backend, Product, Design, and Data to align on API contracts and unblock dependencies.
• Mentorship - Lead code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing to raise front-end craft across the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of frontend experience building production React applications on web and/or React Native in high-velocity environments.
• Proven experience shipping A/B-tested, feature-flag-enabled interfaces and iterating quickly based on metrics.
• Advanced React and React Native skills, including hooks, context, and performance optimization techniques.
• Strong TypeScript and component-driven architecture experience and ability to design maintainable design systems.
• Expertise in front-end performance tuning, code-splitting, lazy loading, memoization, and build optimizations.
• Experience integrating analytics and observability tools, and validating event schemas for clean data collection.
• Proficiency with testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for front-end delivery, including unit, integration, and E2E testing.
• Data-driven mindset, strong communication skills, and a track record of collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with crypto wallets, payments, or referral and incentive programs.
• Contributions to open-source front-end libraries or public talks on growth engineering.
• Familiarity with mobile push-notification SDKs and deep-link handling.
