Role overview

As a Senior Rust Engineer you will work across frontend and backend systems to design and implement high-performance transaction infrastructure, APIs, and services that bridge the blockchain and the user experience. You will collaborate with engineering, product, and protocol contributors to optimize transaction reliability, order flow, and resilient systems that operate under changing Solana network conditions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable, performant transaction landing infrastructure that ensures transactions land quickly and consistently across evolving Solana network conditions.
• Architect and optimize order flow to maximize value capture and execution quality for Phantom's retail flows.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to build resilient backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that power wallet features and cross-platform clients.
• Stay informed on Solana ecosystem changes, research relevant proposals and client improvements, and adapt Phantom systems to leverage advances from projects like Jito or SIMD proposals.
• Contribute to Solana client development, forks, or ecosystem tooling and represent Phantom in technical community collaboration.
• Deliver high quality, well-tested code, participate in design reviews, and mentor other engineers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years of production Rust experience.
• Proven experience contributing to Solana client development or forks, or equivalent deep protocol-level integration experience.
• Strong background in systems design, distributed systems, and performance optimization for transaction and payment flows.
• Ability to write secure, maintainable code and perform rigorous code reviews, with excellent English communication skills.
• Highly motivated, self-driven, and passionate about blockchain transaction infrastructure and resilient system design.

Nice to have

• Prior experience building wallet transaction infrastructure, payment systems, or working directly on blockchain node implementations.
• Familiarity with order flow optimization techniques and integrations with ecosystem execution layers.

Compensation

The target base salary range for this role is USD 200,000 - USD 250,000, plus equity and benefits. Final offer depends on experience, location, and other factors.
