Staff Frontend Engineer (Platform)

Phantom is a multi-chain self-custodial wallet delivering a secure, seamless experience across Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Polygon. We are seeking a Staff Frontend Engineer to lead frontend platform work, own shared component libraries, improve testing and CI, optimize performance, and maintain a robust design system for a product used by millions of users.

What you will do

• Build and own shared frontend libraries - create and maintain reusable components and libraries to speed development and ensure consistency across teams.
• Enhance frontend testing and CI pipelines - lead test automation using tools like Playwright and Maestro, and streamline CI pipelines for reliability and speed.
• Own frontend performance and architecture - reduce bundle sizes, improve rendering efficiency, and drive architectural improvements for a better user experience.
• Improve and maintain the design system - keep the design system performant, well documented, and tightly integrated with frontend workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience with a strong frontend focus.
• Deep experience with React and Javascript including component architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
• Experience with data fetching, caching, and frontend state management patterns.
• Demonstrated interest in open and community-driven platforms and the ability to contribute to shared code and standards.
• English language proficiency and strong communication skills.
• Experience in blockchain-based projects is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience with Playwright or similar end to end testing frameworks, and knowledge of CI pipeline optimization.
• Background in design systems, documentation, and cross-team frontend governance.

Compensation and benefits
