Role Overview

As a core member of Phantom's Blockchain Data team, you will design, build, and optimize a streaming blockchain data platform to enable high-quality, scalable ingestion, transformation, and delivery of token, price, and spam data. You will own critical platform capabilities that provide other product engineering teams with access to accurate, realtime on-chain data.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL and streaming data pipelines to source, transform, and deliver on-chain and off-chain data.
• Implement data quality frameworks and observability solutions to ensure accuracy, freshness, and reliability across pipelines.
• Architect systems for high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance to support millions of requests per day.
• Design efficient data models and schemas that support downstream analytics and product needs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust backend platform solutions.
• Contribute to team growth and culture by mentoring peers and raising technical standards with each new hire.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience building large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Proven experience designing and optimizing modern ETL pipelines and data engineering solutions in high-growth environments.
• Hands-on experience with languages and frameworks in the stack, for example Golang, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS.
• Experience with streaming and messaging platforms such as Kafka, and with in-memory stores like Redis.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, for example PostgreSQL, and data modeling best practices.
• Demonstrated experience implementing observability, monitoring, and data quality systems for production pipelines.
• Familiarity with web3 and crypto concepts, including on-chain data and wallet integrations, is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a lean, distributed team.
