About the Role

Dandy is hiring Senior Software Engineers to join our rapidly scaling technology organization. As an early engineer you will help shape product direction, solve medium to large technical problems, and deliver high quality, well-tested features that reinvent analog experiences in a legacy industry.

Tech Stack

TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, React/Redux, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

What You’ll Do

• Develop features and improvements across Dandy’s products in a secure, well-tested, and performant way.
• Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality in an iterative environment.
• Advocate for product quality, security, and performance, and implement improvements.
• Solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Create code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices, and enforce those standards through code review.
• Identify technical debt and propose pragmatic, iterative solutions to remove impediments to team efficiency.
• Own projects end-to-end from concept through production, including proposal, design, and execution.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably at a high-growth startup or similar environment.
• Strong ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Collaborative, pragmatic, and growth-oriented mindset.
• Clear, concise communication about technical, architectural, and organizational problems, with the ability to propose iterative solutions.
• Experience diagnosing and preventing performance and optimization issues.
• Comfort working in a highly agile, iterative development process and owning projects end-to-end.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to thrive in a hybrid or distributed workforce.

Bonus Points For

• Hands-on experience with TypeScript in production.
• Previous time at a venture-backed startup during hyper-growth.
• Positive attitude, sense of humor, and the ability to enjoy collaborative work.
