The Job

Attorney - this role combines traditional legal practice with operator responsibilities inside a fast-moving startup. You will manage and coordinate clients and cases, perform thoughtful legal analysis, and advocate for well-reasoned positions. You will also partner with product, data science, and marketing to shape features, research, and go-to-market activities that serve clients at scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual frameworks and systems to match clients to the right law firms and partners based on case type, geography, client preferences, and firm capabilities.
• Conduct interviews with partner law firms to prioritize product features and operational workflows, then collaborate with Design and Product to define roadmaps and mockups.
• Partner with Marketing to scope and execute client testimonial programs, including client selection, outreach, interviewing, and drafting pitches.
• Provide legal analysis and operational input to cross-functional teams, helping to translate legal requirements into product and process decisions.
• Serve as a hands-on, pragmatic legal partner across the business while contributing to product and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience at a top law firm or non-profit and a desire to pivot into a high-impact startup role.
• Juris Doctor from a top law school with strong academic performance.
• Admission to the bar in any U.S. state.
• Resourceful team player who can thrive in a scrappy, fast-moving environment and learn quickly.
• Strong analytical, communication, and client service skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have

• Several years of meaningful pre-law work experience in client service or business roles.
• Prior experience at a startup or other agile environment.
• Interest in product, operations, or business leadership as a future career path.

Salary and Benefits

We offer competitive pay including equity and generous benefits. The anticipated base salary band for this role is $120,000 to $150,000, plus equity and benefits. Actual salary will depend on experience and fit.

Work Model
