The Job
We are hiring a Senior Product Designer to own and elevate user experiences across client and lawyer journeys. You will design and ship user flows that drive acquisition, engagement, and conversion while building scalable systems and processes that allow our design practice to grow. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly affect the lives of people in crisis and the productivity of internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship user flows and end-to-end experiences across product areas, focusing on acquisition, engagement, and conversion.
- Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research to deeply understand clients, lawyers, and internal teams, and translate findings into design decisions.
- Own testing and measurement of experiences you design, using metrics, qualitative research, and experimentation to iterate and improve.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to deliver production-ready solutions and maintain high implementation quality.
- Contribute to and maintain scalable design systems, components, and patterns that support rapid, consistent delivery.
- Provide and solicit constructive feedback, mentor other designers, and help elevate design craft across the organization.
- Balance long-term vision and practical implementation, shipping quickly without compromising user needs or quality.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of in-house product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating elegant, impactful solutions to complex problems.
- Proven ability to own the full design lifecycle from research and strategy through detailed interaction design and production delivery.
- Strong visual and interaction design skills, including prototyping and motion where appropriate.
- Experience working closely with product, engineering, and research in fast-paced environments, and the ability to influence cross-functional roadmaps.
- Data-informed mindset - comfortable using analytics and qualitative research to validate design hypotheses and measure impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to present design rationale to stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Early-stage startup experience, two-sided marketplace or B2B product work.
- Experience designing for high-empathy domains such as legal, healthcare, or social services.
- Skills in illustration, motion, or advanced visual craft.
Salary and Benefits
We offer competitive pay, equity, and generous benefits designed to support your health, learning, and work-life balance. Highlights include:
- Medical and dental insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered.
- Free membership to OneMedical.
- 15 vacation days plus approximately 19 paid holidays each year, including two weeks at year end.
- $600 per year reimbursable internet stipend, and $1,000 reimbursable stipend for education and training outside of work.
- Up to $1,200 per year student loan repayment assistance.
- 401(k) and optional HSA/FSA where applicable, equity participation, and thoughtfully planned retreats and offsites.
Location and Work Style
This role is fully remote. Live wherever and work remotely, with occasional travel to Los Angeles on the company dime as needed for retreats, offsites, and team gatherings - typically quarterly or yearly. We value in-person interactions for culture while enabling flexible remote work.
Why Join Us
This is a rare opportunity to shape product experience for a mission-driven startup with strong traction and a chance to have outsized impact. Your work will touch many lives and help scale a service that genuinely helps people in crisis.
