The Role

We are hiring a Staff Product Designer for Consumer to lead end-to-end design across a major product area. You will set the vision, drive design strategy, own complex user journeys from discovery through launch, and partner deeply with Product, Engineering, and UX Research to influence roadmap priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner strategically with Product, Engineering, and UX Research to shape product direction, priorities, and roadmap.
• Own end-to-end user journeys from concept to production, including ideation, prototyping, user testing, and final design deliverables.
• Create high-fidelity visual and interaction designs, prototypes, and specification artifacts that are production ready.
• Collaborate with Design Systems teams to build scalable, consistent frameworks and UI components.
• Establish and lead the design practice for your product area, providing mentorship and constructive design feedback to other designers.
• Present design recommendations and user-centered tradeoffs to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.

What We Look For

• 10+ years of product design experience with a proven record of leading a design function across a product area.
• Mastery of visual and interaction design, prototyping, user testing, and UX best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to own the full design lifecycle from concept to implementation and measure impact.
• Experience working closely with UX Research, Product, and Engineering to influence product decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong collaboration across disciplines.
• Low ego, openness to feedback, and a focus on outcomes that benefit users and the business.

Nice to Have

• Experience with crypto-forward UX, onchain concepts such as Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, or Lightning.
• Prior experience at scale consumer products or in regulated financial contexts.

Salary and Benefits

The target annual salary for this role is CA$217,900. Full time offers from Coinbase may also include target bonus, target equity, and comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage. Additional benefits include:

Location and Work Style

#LI-Remote. This role is remote and may be filled in eligible locations. Coinbase is remote-first but not remote-only, and in-person participation for team and company offsites is expected periodically. Candidates should review location guidance during the application process.
