Job Overview
WordPress VIP, part of the Automattic family, is hiring Business Development Representatives to drive outbound and inbound lead generation, qualify prospects, and create sales opportunities for enterprise video and content solutions. This fully remote role is ideal for motivated sales hunters who want to launch or accelerate a career in technology sales within a high growth, distributed environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute outbound calling and email campaigns to prospective clients to book sales meetings.
- Follow up on inbound marketing leads to build and qualify new opportunities.
- Lead discovery conversations to assess fit, diagnose needs, and recommend solutions.
- Qualify leads and build pipeline by demonstrating value and relevant use cases.
- Prospect proactively to identify new accounts and key contacts.
- Balance time between prospecting, outreach, and conducting discovery calls.
- Maintain organized records and operational excellence in CRM and sales tools.
- Consistently meet or exceed daily activity and monthly meeting targets.
- Provide strategic suggestions and feedback to sales leadership to improve outreach and conversion.
Requirements
- Strong interest in a sales career, with a results oriented mindset.
- High social intelligence, with the ability to empathize and connect quickly.
- Comfortable conducting cold outreach and handling objections.
- Ability to work productively in a remote work environment.
- Organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Background in sales development is preferred but not required.

Compensation
Salary range: $50,000 - $70,000 USD base, plus variable compensation and commission. Actual pay will reflect experience and local market considerations.
