Role Overview
Automattic is hiring a Partner Manager for the Automattic for Agencies (A4A) program. In this fully remote role you will own and grow strategic relationships with a portfolio of digital agencies, drive partner-sourced revenue, and enable agencies to scale their clients on Automattic products. You will work cross-functionally with internal business units to deliver joint go-to-market programs, training, events, and co-selling efforts that increase partner success.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales of Automattic products through agency partner channels by identifying revenue opportunities and executing growth strategies.
- Source, recruit, and onboard agency partners aligned with the A4A program strategy, and build multiple champions within each partner organization.
- Own agency account management, including relationship building, GTM planning, performance monitoring, escalation handling, and business reviews.
- Monitor partner and client health, manage retention risks, and implement strategies to grow partners' book of business.
- Deliver partner enablement through training, co-marketing, and sales enablement programs in collaboration with internal Marketing, Sales/CS, Product, Happiness, and Executive teams.
- Attend and support flagship events like WordCamps, sponsorships, and partner meetups to drive lead generation and visibility.
- Gather partner feedback to influence product, operations, and partner experience improvements.
- Advocate for partner needs internally and ensure partners meet agreed standards and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SaaS channel sales, partner management, or related roles, preferably within the WordPress ecosystem or adjacent agency markets.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and structuring partnership programs with clear ROI and prioritization.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a hands-on approach to identifying growth opportunities and penetrating new accounts.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to C-level stakeholders both virtually and in person.
- Experience working across multiple business units and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to build partner relationships and attend events.
- Self-starter mindset, proactive problem solver, and able to manage uncertainty while delivering results.
Preferred
- Familiarity with the WordPress ecosystem, Automattic product suite, hosting, and developer tooling.
- Experience with agency enablement, co-selling, or partner marketing programs.
Compensation
Compensation Range (salary plus commission) - $140,000 to $170,000 USD. Salary ranges are listed globally and paid in local currency as applicable. Final pay will reflect experience, impact potential, and location, and may exceed the stated range in exceptional cases.
Work Model
Automattic is a fully distributed company. This role is remote and will require collaboration across time zones. Candidates in US time zones are being prioritized for this position. Travel for events and partner meetings is expected as part of the role.
