Job Description

About Atticus

At any given time, 16 million Americans face a crisis that requires urgent help from our legal system or government. Atticus makes it simple for sick or injured people in crisis to access life-changing aid. Over the last six years we have become a leading platform connecting people with disabilities to government benefits, and we also help victims of accidents, misconduct, and violence secure insurance compensation. To date we have helped thousands of people access more than $4B in aid, supported over 110,000 clients, and earned 13,000+ five-star reviews. We have raised more than $100 million from top VC firms including Fika, Forerunner, GV, and True Ventures, and closed our Series C round in April 2025. Our team grew from 89 to over 151 last year and we expect to grow again in 2025.

The Job

As a Client Experience Associate on our Client Experience team, you will help hundreds of people every week who are seeking disability benefits or insurance compensation. This role centers on client-facing conversations by phone to understand each person's situation, determine how Atticus can help, and advise next steps. You will rapidly learn to use internal platforms and tools such as Salesforce and Front, and be measured and rewarded based on the impact you have on clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct phone conversations with clients to gather information, assess needs, and advise on next steps.
  • Use internal tools and platforms to navigate client cases and keep caseloads moving efficiently.
  • Provide empathetic, clear, and timely guidance to clients who are often in crisis.
  • Manage multiple interactions per day while maintaining organization and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and internal teams to route cases, escalate issues, and improve client outcomes.
  • Contribute to process improvements and share learnings to help the team scale impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year university with strong academic performance preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people across diverse backgrounds with empathy and clarity.
  • Excellent written communication and the ability to rapidly learn and use internal platforms and tools.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and maintain a strong work ethic.
  • No prior legal knowledge requiredโ€”you do not need to be a paralegal or lawyer to succeed in this role.

Bonus / Nice-to-Have

  • Experience on a high-volume, high-performing service, support, or sales team at a company known for excellent customer service.
  • Hands-on socially focused internships or significant volunteer experience.

Why Join Us

This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven, well-funded startup that remains small enough for your work to have outsized impact and shape our culture. We are a certified B Corporation tackling a critical social problem, and your work will touch many lives.

Salary and Benefits

We offer competitive pay, equity, and generous benefits. Highlights include:

  • Medical and dental insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered.
  • 15 vacation days and approximately 19 paid holidays each year, including two weeks at the end of the year.
  • Free membership to OneMedical.
  • $600 per year reimbursable stipend for internet service.
  • $1,000 reimbursable stipend for education and training outside of work.
  • Up to $1,200 per year student loan repayment assistance.
  • 401(k) and optional HSA/FSA.
  • Equity participation and humble, thoughtful, smart, fun colleagues.

Location and Work Style

This role is fully remote. Live wherever and work remotely, with occasional travel to Los Angeles on the company dime as needed to meet colleagues - generally somewhere between quarterly and yearly. We value in-person gatherings for culture building and thoughtfully plan retreats and offsites.

Diversity and Legal Notice

Atticus is strongly committed to building a diverse team and encourages candidates from backgrounds underrepresented in tech to apply. This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
