GitLab is hiring a Senior Manager to lead strategy and analytics for Customer Success and Renewals. This senior leadership role combines analytical rigor, strategic planning, and people leadership to drive retention, renewal performance, and operational excellence across global CS and Renewals functions.

What you will do
- Strategic partnership - Serve as a strategic partner to Customer Success and Renewals leadership, driving long-range planning and high-impact initiatives.
- Advanced analytics - Leverage analytics to uncover insights, identify opportunities, and guide strategic decision-making across renewals and retention.
- Modeling and forecasting - Develop sophisticated business models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to support planning and resource allocation.
- KPI ownership - Drive alignment and accountability on critical CS and Renewals KPIs, including renewal rates, gross retention, and churn metrics.
- Cross-functional collaboration - Work with Finance, Sales, and Customer Success leadership to define and track key performance indicators and operational priorities.
- Communication - Communicate insights and recommendations to executive audiences through compelling data visualizations and narratives.
- Enablement - Foster a data-driven culture and empower teams with self-service analytics and reporting capabilities.
- Team leadership - Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of analysts and business strategists.
- Process improvement - Champion process improvements and operational rigor to improve renewal and CS outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- Proven track record driving strategic initiatives and leveraging analytics in Customer Success, Renewals, or related revenue functions.
- Strong leadership experience managing analytics teams and driving cross-functional alignment.
- Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
- Experience building complex financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses.
- Excellent storytelling and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive audiences.
- Business acumen and the ability to translate analysis into strategic recommendations and operational plans.
- Experience with large-scale data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery is preferred.
- Degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Prior experience in revenue retention, renewals analytics, or customer success operations at scale.
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms and modern analytics stacks.
Work Model and Location
This role is remote. GitLab hires globally and roles are remote by design, although some roles carry location-based eligibility requirements. The posting includes a location designation of Remote-Global and provides country/state pay guidance where applicable.
Compensation
GitLab publishes base salary guidance for listed locations. For specified US locations the base salary range for this level is $122,400 - $214,000 USD. Final compensation depends on candidate experience, location, and other factors. Additional compensation and equity details are available in GitLab's handbook and during the recruiting process.
