The Job
We are hiring a Growth Lead (Head of SEM) to own paid search strategy and scale our client acquisition engine as we grow. This role mixes hands-on paid search execution with strategic growth leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven experimentation. You will launch, monitor, and optimize campaigns, expand channels, and partner with Product and Engineering to tailor user experience for paid search audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Own and develop comprehensive paid search strategies to grow client acquisition at scale.
- Launch, monitor, and optimize new marketing campaigns across paid search channels.
- Drive expansion into new acquisition channels and continuously test performance improvements.
- Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and audience targeting to uncover growth opportunities and mitigate regulatory or reputation risks.
- Work with Product and Engineering to design and build landing pages and tailor UX for paid search audiences.
- Partner with Content and creative teams to develop high-performing ad copy and assets.
- Manage contractors or agencies as needed to augment internal capabilities.
- Measure impact through rigorous testing and analytics, and drive data-informed decisions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years working at a top digital advertising agency with demonstrated promotions and strong performance.
- Proven experience with Google Ads and Bing Ads or equivalent paid media platforms.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, comfortable with data analytics and visualization tools.
- Experience conducting keyword research, competitive analysis, and audience targeting for paid media.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments and partnering cross-functionally.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor and shape a positive team culture.
Bonus / Nice-to-have
- Experience with Looker, SQL, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.
- History of designing and producing digital ads and improving paid media campaigns.
- Experience in regulated or sensitive categories and working within compliance constraints.
Salary and benefits
We offer competitive pay, equity, and generous benefits. The anticipated base salary band for this role is USD 130,000 - USD 155,000, plus equity and other benefits. Final offer will be based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
